Tucked away in dense foliage, I discovered a hidden gem.


When my parents moved into their house 20 years ago I picked out a tiny plant to go in their garden. Today when I visited I was delighted to find it in full bloom. Pale and delicate blossoms against jet black leaves, more berry red buds just waiting to burst.
It is stunning.


Others rise, graceful and stately. They linger there until all eyes are upon them and all breath is held, then burst into glorious beauty.

Some flowers slowly unfurl. Elegantly blooming into being.



I don’t believe in the saying, but it’s strange to see this photo on a sad day like today.
