When you’re overwhelmed by your surroundings and feeling small. I see you there, dainty and colourful. You need no introduction, no fanfare. You stand out from the crowd by being your beautiful self.

There’s something so beautiful about hydrangeas. They always remind me of a kaleidoscope of butterflies, poised to take flight.



In the torrential rain I found this weary traveller in a puddle. With all his worldly goods on his back he could go no where quickly and I feared he would drown.

I scooped him up, after asking politely of course, and transferred him to the loving embrace and shelter of Buddha.

Imagine my surprise when an hour later his wise old face appeared at my door.

Whether he came to offer thanks, was simply passing by, or is now my guardian until the life debt is repaid… We shall have to wait and see.

Guys! I think this is the start of a quest!
Up on the glorious Isle of Skye this week with very limited access, which is heavenly except that there is so much beauty to share. So, have a mini treat from the garden…


These aren’t very good shots, so forgive me. This little guy was fast, but I needed to share my appreciation of his fine camouflage skills.

This crafty hoverfly is pretending to be dangerous. He’s really a very sweet boy.. unless you’re an aphid.
