since I sat down to paint. There’s work going on at the house. I can’t hear music or the TV, and I really do prefer quiet when I read, so now we have a bit of a swirly tree.

It’s been a while since I’ve picked up the brushes, more than a year I think.
First time trying acrylics. I think I could get better at these.

I haven’t picked up a paintbrush to continue my practice in months. I just didn’t have the concentration in me. I decided today was the day.
I thought it started well…

Then I fluffed the forefront so the whole thing was just… Blah!

But then I mixed again, tried a different brush and technique, and I think I saved it a little.

It’s not perfect, but it is improving.
The tutorial said that first we draw the sunset.

Then, we throw in some foreground.

It’s been a little while since I got the paints out. I need to keep practicing.
