The starlings have mostly outgrown their fluffy stage. They’re more teenagers now. Throwing food around as well as their weight.

The nursery (or bird anger management)
Our bird feeder has turned into a nursery. Birdmoms drop the kids off at the buffet for a while and fly off to do some chores.

Buried treasure
Found this guy buried in my plant pots as I was digging this afternoon. No idea who is in there, but I put him back and wish him well.

Just a drop
Would you look at this pudgy baby bird!?
Bee butt
The other thing we did recently was put an insect hotel in the garden. Today I peeked inside and found little fuzzy bee butts in residence.

Mouths to feed
At the start of lockdown I bought a bird feeder for the front yard. We have a bunch of regulars who drop by every day. The most regular is a mated pair of blackbirds.
Today we met the youngest of the family.
Leap of faith
Hiding in plain sight
Found this little beauty sheltering for the day in one of out plant pots.

In dappled sunlight
